Strengthening Business Practices for Family Child Care Providers: Modules 1&2
This 6-hour training series is designed to support family day home owners hone their administrative skills and offer strategies to encourage business growth. This business operations training series consists of modules which build upon one another to support sound business practices and help providers realize a profit while caring for and nurturing our future.
Module I of this training will cover Budgets, Projections, and Planning. In Module I, you will learn: a process for building a budget and how to use it for decision making; how to project business costs, generate additional income, and plan strategically for future goals. Module II will cover Financial Reports and Internal Controls. In Module II, you will learn: how to create financial reports to help you better manage your program’s finances; the concept of internal controls and how they can strengthen your program’s financial health. Modules I and II must be taken together. Module III of this training will cover Marketing. In this module, you will learn: the definition and value of external and internal marketing; how to articulate your program’s features and values and how to use them as marketing tools; and how data can inform marketing efforts to better utilize time and money. Providers are invited to sign up for Module IV in the Strengthening Business Practices for Center-based Programs to receive training in hiring practices. Classes are virtual.

A two-hour certificate will be provided for each class attended.
