Strengthening Business Practices for Child Care Centers: Modules 3&4
This 8-hour training series is designed to support child care center owners and directors hone their administrative skills and offer strategies to encourage business growth. This business operations training series consists of modules which build upon one another to support sound business practices and help providers realize a profit while caring for and nurturing our future.
Module I will cover Budgets, Projections, and Planning. In Module I, you will learn: a process for building a budget and using it for decision making; how to project business costs, generate income, and plan strategically for future goals.
Module II will cover Financial Reports and Internal Controls. In Module II, you will learn: how to create financial reports to help you better manage your center’s finances, the concept of internal controls and how they can strengthen your center’s financial health. Modules I and II must be taken together.
Module III of this training will cover Marketing. In this module, you will learn: the definition and value of external and internal marketing; how to articulate your program’s features and values and how to use them as marketing tools; and how data can inform marketing efforts to better utilize time and money.
Module IV of this training will cover Recruiting and Retaining Staff. In this module, you will learn: best practices for recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new employees; a framework for building an effective orientation plan; the components of a staff handbook; and strategies for providing feedback to employees. Classes are virtual.

A two-hour certificate will be provided for each class attended.
